Something Profound is a band that was founded in 2005. Childhood friends and founders Danny Toth and Josh Pross met by chance after years apart, following the untimely death of a mutual friend. Following this event, Danny and Josh, both with musical backgrounds, conceived the idea to pay tribute to their fallen friend through a song. Using their guitars, this melodic effort evolved into multiple songs, concepts, and naturally, the idea of a band. Friend and former high school band mate Orlando Herrera was soon introduced to the new project.

Orlando, also affected by this tragic event, shared the same vision and aim of the project as Danny and Josh did, and also brought years of percussion experience in various genres. Working together, the three made much initial progress, but knew a vocalist was absolutely necessary to round out the band and move forward. Dustin Baker, formerly of (On Sidewalks) was a co-worker with Josh, who pitched the idea to Dustin soon after learning of his vocal and guitar backgrounds. Drawing on his own experiences in life and music, he found it easy to share in the direction the band was heading for. Dustin’s musical ability did not disappoint either. The chemistry between the four was instantly there, and together, “Something Profound” made their first eight track album, “For the Greater Good” released in 2007.
